Just finished watching "Lucky Day", and ...

* Have to say, I did not enjoy this one.

* I mean, it's definitely better than McTighe's first one, "Kerblam!", but ... that's a real low bar.

* For one thing, I don't like the idea that traveling with the Doctor will inevitably leave you scarred for life. It _does_ do that sometimes, obviously, but Ruby seemed pretty much OK the last time we saw her. If _every_ companion ends up an unhappy, twitchy mess of PTSD, then you're kind of implying that the whole premise of the show is a bad idea, aren't you?

* Not sure that Conrad's characterization makes a whole lot of sense. I would need to spend some time thinking about that to decide, and I don't _want_ to have him in my head any more than necessary. Yuck.

* The bad guys are obviously bad, obviously evil, but ... UNIT doesn't come out looking too good either, do they? Conrad's a terrible person and wrong about pretty much everything, but he kiiiiiiinda maybe almost has a point about UNIT being secretive and sinister and not accountable to anybody. I really dislike 'Dark UNIT' stories, that's not what UNIT is supposed to be. (Do they realize how morally sketchy this version of Kate comes across? Are they doing it on purpose?) Get the Brig's name out of your mouth, McTighe.

* The speech at the end was obnoxiously heavy-handed and unneccessary.

* In conclusion, I sure am glad that they realized "Kerblam!" was a disaster and never invited the writer back to the show again.
